Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT)

We are a managing agent appointed by British Gas and work exclusively with British Gas to help promote the Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT) scheme to housing asssociations and local councils.  CERT 2008 - 2011 follows on from the EEC 2005 - 2008.

CERT is a statutory obligation on energy suppliers to deliver energy improvements in housing. British Gas supports housing organisations and local councils with grants when they install energy efficient measures such as

• gas, LPG or oil central heating which replaces electric systems (fuel switching)
• dry lining
• cavity and loft insulation
• external wall insulation
• draught proofing

The funding varies according to the size of property and measures installed.

Our role is to:

• make housing associations aware of the funding available
• advise you on whether the measures you have taken are eligible for funding
• advise you on your planning to ensure you maximise your eligibility for funding
• advise you on the information you need to supply to make a claim
• collate the information you have supplied
• make the application on your behalf
• send you the cheque!
